Mediacom 3 thanks to it's significant technical innovations, will be energy self-sufficient, consuming three times less energy than the average building in France while delivering optimal comfort for occupants.
These innovations include: reinforced thermal insulation, with 26 cm wall insulation, triple glazing and external sunblinds, enhanced natural ventilation instead of conventional air conditioning, roof-mounted photovoltaic panels that will generate more energy than then building uses starting in 2012. Mediacom 3 is also an environmentally responsible building. The green worksite was organised to reduce noise and dust and worksite waste was sorted for recycling. Preference was given to sustainable building materials, including zinc cladding (fully recyclable), timber framing (a renewable resource) for the facade, and steel framing (easy to dismantle and recycle) for the building.
* Rainwater is collected for greenspace maintenance.
Advanced negotiations are under way to let the entire building.
